The long road to third year.

The long road to third year.

I received my timetable for my third year at uni today, which got me thinking about the year in general and more specifically, my goals for that time spent.

First year was a new beginning, exploring, playing, making new friends (for the most part). Second year was more defined and focused though still with room to play.

Entering my third and final year of my degree is a daunting task – it’s going to be hard(er) work, more focused, more controlled as I’ll be making more of my own decisions project-wise. It’s the year in which I am going to make myself what I want to be, an illustrator. I am going to set to the tasks given me with no abandon, I am going to work like I’ve never worked before. I am going to let myself go as an artist, like I have never have before. I am going to be colouring outside of the lines this year, I can promise you that. I am going to get myself out there, I am going to push my work and (hopefully) attract more clients. I am going to take the time to enter competitions (no more being lazy and missing deadlines) and I am going to win, damnit. I am going to network, I am going to sell myself and make it. Time to focus on my goal, mentally prepare and go for it. This year is going to be my year, so watch your back.
