From the Archives: David Weidman

This weeks featured artist from “From the Archives” is David Weidman, an American artist who made his name in the 50s and 60s (and is incredibly still producing prints today, aged 89!) working in animation and as a print artist. I don’t own any prints of Weidman’s, but I do have a beautiful book called the Whimsical Work of David Weidman and also some Serious Ones (it appears it is sold out on Amazon, except a few new and used copies). If you’re observant, you may have even spotted some of his work on the show Mad Men – it appears in several places, including Peggy’s office. It’s always interesting to spot artists you admire being enjoyed by others. Also, If you don’t watch Man Men, I recommend you start.

You can find out a bit more about David at weidmansart.com and even buy a signed print or two if it tickles your fancy!
