Book: Digital Textile Design

Book: Digital Textile Design

Recently whilst browsing in the wonderful shop that is Magma, I came across a book called Digital Textile Design by Melanie Bowles and Ceri Isaac. I had added this book to my amazon wishlist a while back though avoided making a purchase until I had a chance to look through it. After leafing through it, I decided to promptly order it off Amazon (Sorry Magma, I just cannot afford your RRP prices) and am ever so pleased with it.
This book is definitely an inspiration to any illustrator interested in pattern work.  Besides being filled with inspirational pages showing other designers, it also includes tutorials on various digital processes which inspire you and help you to create your own work. Particularly interesting for me, it connects the processes of illustration and pattern with fashion production. There is also a section dedicated to the printing processes, from Silk-Screening to Digital Printing (great references for applying my work to prints).

I am definitely looking forward to working from this book and using to inspire my work and my development of patterns and will be sure to share any results that stem from it.
