28 Day Challenge – Day One

28 Day Challenge – Day One

For my first drawing challenge of the year, I’ve chosen to do a piece for each of the 28 days of February. There are no real guidelines, except that I must create a piece, anything from a simple piece (like today’s) to more complex, completed pieces, every day for twenty-eight days. Starting with 28 days seems less intimidating and demanding of my time, so a good place to begin, I think.

I’ve started out with a simple fashion drawing as I want to try some new techniques during this time, applying them to my natural style and see where it takes it.

I tried to pare back my usual abundance of details and work with just basic, messy outlined shapes. The outcome reminds me a little of Antonio Lopez’s work. I’m definitely going to take the opportunity these 28 days grants me to create some full fashion figures as well.

Definitely hope this little project loosens me up, I’ve been so anxious and uptight lately.
